SW Winter SC Champs - Session 5 and the Final Update:

They think it's all over, and it is now...
This weekend saw a new Alert Level 2 format Winter Champs take place.  The meet, restricted to swimmers 12&O to meet the cap of numbers, saw each age group swimming at their own session, from Friday afternoon through to Sunday afternoon.

13Y: Matthew Biddington, Zach Edwards, Sophie Ewens, Sienna Leilua, Ollie Robinson, Milla Sutherland, Lily Tankersley, Nathan Webber, Bianca Yeldon
14Y: Hannah Campbell, Naomi Cooper, Charlotte Gibbs, Benjamin Hong, Hara Hughes, Tara Swamy, Briana Trewern, Annika Yeldon
15Y: Mia Booth, Mackenzie Chartrand, Anna Comeskey, Miriam Kirby, Amy Teekman, Wynter Tickle
16: Matthew Cooper, Gavin Moon, Georgia Wills
17&O: Bronson Lloyd

Firstly, well done to everyone for gaining a Top 10 placing - amazing!! The PB rate was huge - you only had to look at Meet Mobile and the green times next to the Tawa swimmers to see how hard these swimmers have been working, and how focussed they were this weekend.  Lots of PBs, placings, medals, club records, and even a Wellington record (congratulations to Bronson Lloyd for a Wellington Record in the 200 Fly (unofficial until the results are confirmed), beating a record from 2006 of 2.02.98, with his time of 2:01.70 - well done Bronson.)

Well done to everyone for taking part in this much-reduced, but still fun, meet. It wasn't how everyone wanted to race necessarily, and hopefully it won't become our "new normal", but the kids raced, they had fun, and they represented our Club brilliantly with their camaraderie and positive attitudes. Thanks to them all for being such good role models, thanks to those parents who Team Managed this weekend, thanks to John for being there, thanks to the parents/caregivers/people-who-don't-have-swimmers-but-still-love-to-help-out, for time-keeping, IOTing, officiating in some form, thanks to Swimming Wellington for putting on a great meet under difficult circumstances. You all rock!

Hope you all enjoyed yourselves.

Thank you!
