Sunday 9th September 2018

The last two weekends (1/2 and 8/9 September) have seen many of our swimmers compete at the Swim Wellington Winter Short Course Champs.  Whilst we have had a number of swimmers gain medals, we also had numerous swimmers gain top 10 placings.  In addition, we had a huge number of PBs (Personal Best times) gained by our swimmers.  Of 191 swims, the number of PBs were 142 (a fantastic PB rate of 74%).  Given the recent challenges our swimmers have endured (closure of our pool and the resultant sessions at different pools around the area; reduced diving practice; changes in session times; changes in coaching cover), these results are fantastic and show the determination and motivation of our swimmers to always do their best.

Thank you to our swimmers, who represented the Club with pride, who behaved thoughtfully and were supportive of other swimmers. As well, thank you to all of our coaches (paid and volunteers), Officials, Team Managers, Time-keepers - everyone who stepped up to assist in a meet run wholly by volunteers.  Thanks also to the parents for ferrying and feeding the swimmers over two weekends.

In what has been a challenging couple of months, it is good to see such great results, and such camaraderie within the Club.  Well done and thanks to everyone.
